This weekend was like 2 straight days of banging my head against the wall. I'm starting to realize that there's one giant flaw with our plan of finishing the remodeling before the baby arrives - and that is my patience level. Or lack thereof. I'm really starting to doubt my ability to weather a summer of mess and mayhem.
Maybe it's the fact that we've been out of practice for so long...and left so many projects half-done due to necessity. Or maybe it's that we're just plain burned out on the whole fix-it process...but things just were not coming together for us this weekend. It actually got so bad at one point that we quit what we were doing, got on the internet, and searched for a new house.
And then there was the last minute trip to Home Depot just before closing. We picked up a few sheets of sheetrock, got out to the truck, and it started raining. So then we drove across the street to Target, ran inside for some plastic sheeting, covered up the sheetrock with it...and it didn't rain one drop for the rest of the night.
I think it's a sign.
Despite all our troubles though, we did at least accomplish some painting. It's like step one of 487 planned for this summer, but it's a start!
