Julian to the rescue!

Last weekend was a bit crazy. We had both our annual community garage sales AND our community picnic which equaled LOTS of time outside in the sun. This resulted in one pretty decent sunburn (Eddie) and multiple horrid chigger bites (all of us, but poor Julian got the worst of it). It also resulted in a new cool accessory for Julian - a firefighter's hat (not to mention some great 'finds' at the garage sales.)

As part of the community picnic the local volunteer firefighters brought the trucks out and gave a talk on fire safety to the kids (and parents). Julian got to sit in the fire truck...

check out this pencil!
...And even got to man the hose (although he wanted absolutely nothing to do with the helmet - thus defaulting it for Dada to wear..)

The next morning he wanted to go outside and help Daddy, deciding that he abosolutely needed to wear his snow boots, his monkey backpack AND his new fire chief hat in order to step out the door. You've gotta love his emerging sense of style...

And this one, just because...

He's so cute and knows it. Matter of fact, he has heard Mommy tell him just how "SO CUTE" he is so often that he has now taken to calling the cat SO CUTE and even tortured some newborn kittens by hugging their SO CUTEness the other night. It's funny how about 75% of your children's vocabulary and phrasing comes straight from you, the parent. My absolute favorite is when he says "Wowwww....beauuuuutiful!" Something I say to when when he draws me a picture on his little magna doodle board. He most recently used this phrase the other night when we took him to the BIG pool for the first time this summer...it was WOW, BEAUTIFUL! I absolutely adore his innocent wonder!
